Day 2

If you’re just joining in, check out Essential Oils 101 – Day 1 first and hop back here after. If you are new to my page, feel free to check out some of my other posts while you’re here.

Where were we? Ah, yes.

My life is no longer the same thanks to this oil!!! Young Living’s peppermint oil has a strong, clean, fresh, minty aroma. Peppermint is one of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs. It has a wide range of uses that include supporting normal digestion.  This powerful oil is often diluted before topical application as it is considered a “hot” oil. This is my favourite oil to add to my water and sip on between meals and after dinner. It is refreshing and also supports my digestive process. I use metal straws and glass drinking glasses to be sure my oils are ingested safely and simply. Using Peppermint makes me feel focused and energized!

Ways to use peppermint:

+ Diffuse in the morning to get you moving

+ Add a drop to herbal tea or coffee for a delicious treat

+ Use peppermint on wrists and palms to inhale and soothe temporary, normal stomach issues associated with travel

+ Diffuse, inhale or add a drop to water to sip

+ Diffuse for concentration while studying

+ Apply to the navel to support the body when temperatures are high

There is so much to love about this oil!! It is the Jesus oil, after all. It is well known for its grounding properties and skin supporting qualities. This is one that is SO versatile in its uses!!

+ Very grounding

+ Diffuse to unwind after a stressful day

+ Great for aging skin (It’s a primary ingredient in Young Living’s skin care line!)

+ Calming for children

+ Use on the feet during winter months to boost the immune system

+ Great to diffuse for focus and concentration.

Purification does exactly what you’d think it does: it purifies. It is great for diffusing to eliminate odours. (Especially after cooking a meal with a lingering odour like bacon, broccoli or fish. Works well after painting, oven cleaning, cooking, any activity that emits an odour. It contains citronella oil and lemongrass oil. We also use this on a paper towel in our refrigerator, on a cotton ball in the car vents, in stinky shoes, in the kitchen sink…anywhere that could use some freshening up!

Ways we use Purification:

+ Add 2-3 drops to a wool dryer ball and toss in the dryer {This works great when I leave a load in the washer too long!}

+ Drop into shoes to get the stink out

+ Diffuse in smelly areas

+ Add a few drops to a tissue and drop in the diaper pail, or a trash can in the kitchen or bathroom

+ Add 10-20 drops to water in a spray bottle to enjoy the outdoors annoyance free {Purification contains Citronella & Lemongrass oils.}
